Three traditional materials, made new for the wall.
The materials and techniques shaped by Japan’s distinctive climate and by the wisdom of those who came before, handed down over centuries to the present, are the proud legacy of Japan.
Bringing traditional craftsmanship together with new methods, Tomita has made wall materials from three of them: kiri, the paulownia; kozo, the paper mulberry; and kingin, gold and silver leaf.
Everything in Art Wall Legend II is made by hand, and almost all of it to order, in about four weeks. The series is our bridge between Japanese tradition and the future.
